Ruby’s sentence this week: “Mommy Grace no eat home”. Joanna was preparing lunch for Mike, Ruby and herself. Grace and I were at a horse show. She got it!
Ruby has a change about once per week to speak Chinese to someone. And she does pretty well. We’re making her practice her reading and writing.
Joanna and Grace participated in the regional Bible Quiz on May 7-9! They did GREAT. Their local team placed fifth out of sixteen teams. Their district team placed fourth out of thirty-two teams. Out of 260 quizzers, they placed #16 and #18! We are SOOO proud of them. At one point, they were both in contention to go onto the national quiz. Grace got in her coach’s face and said, “I don’t want to study until June!” Grace was more than ready to be done with the book of Luke. They will be thrilled to go to Orlando and cheer their teammates on (two of their teammates are going on to nationals!) As much as they were ready to be done with quizzing, they can’t seem to leave it alone. They are already memorizing Scripture from Corintians and talking about next year, where Joanna’s goal is to quiz at the national level.
Yes - that was Ruby’s first sentence. She was talking to a new friend. They were sitting in the back seat of our van. She said - “I home kitty”. Poor Kristyn didn’t know what was up. I said, “I think she’s trying to tell you she has a kitty at home. Then Ruby said, “You home kitty?” Could it be any clearer!
